I had one of these previously and it was cheaper to buy a new one than new filters, etc., so I just bought another one. It’s working great and cleans the air well. I use it at my office and my immediate co-workers and I stay healthier because of it. Thank you Holmes! I LOVE THIS AIR CLEANER – it’s quiet & a real work horse.

I use mine in a 10×12 office and enjoy the device. It has several speeds and can run very quietly when needed. Excellent clean air feel and gets rid of odors efficiently.

I use this in a small home office, which is about 9×10. It definitely works. Does a decent job on cigarette smoke. The filters are easy to find. It is not very loud, even on the highest setting. But, I wish it were more powerful.

I put this in the bathroom as a test and noticed there is never any odor.
However, the sucking power on the unit doesn’t appear to be very strong. If you put your fingers in front of the intake, you’ll probably think it’s not even working. (although it will show you it’s working if you put a small piece of paper such as a receipt in front of it)
Also, remember this is not true HEPA. It gets 99% of airborne particles, whereas HEPA gets 99.97%. So, if you have 10,000 particles, this will miss 100 of them. True HEPA will only miss 3. I don’t know if it matters that much, but, if I was rich, I would probably get a true HEPA with better suction.
For someone on a budget though, this is probably a good starter unit.

I’m not a kid, you just can’t write a review unless your a member or a kid. I didn’t want to becaome a member, but wanted to leave a review. With that said… I just replaced one of my old Holmes HAP240 (I own 5) with the newer and more modern looking HAP2400. Holmes is GREAT because not only the products are nice looking and priced right, many of Holmes models use the same filter. By doing this you do not have to order filters direct from the company because often your local WalMart will carry a replacement filter. I also use Swifter cloths (or Walmart brand Swifter Dust BOSS) in front a new filter to save $MONEY$
