I smoke a pipe about 3 times a day in my study. After trying a couple of the ionic filters for several years, I decided to try this one. As far as I can tell, it doesn’t remove any of the odor of stale smoke. Too bad.

It is a nice product and larger than I expected when taking it out the box. It also has a droning noise when in the low setting and continues to increase as fan speed increases. I thought it would have been quieter as read on some of the reviews, but it does seem to do a decent job with dust removal.

The unit is everything the ad said it was and more. I’ve read many reviews from customers who had low opinions of the ion-style purifiers. Consuer Reports published that the ozone produced from ion purifiers can actually cause breathing problems in certain people, especially with asthma, which I have.

The positive reviews were of the Whirlpool Whispure, and it truely is “whisper quiet”. So much so that when I turned it on the first time I thought it was on low, but it was actually on its highest setting “Turbo” I have it on Turbo most of the time and it’s right next to me when I watch TV, and it never bothers me at all. The air flow is strong and circulates well.

The unit wasn’t delivered when promised, and I had to send an email to follow-up on the status, but the vendor quickly replied and explained the item was coming from the factory and had been slightly delayed, but it will be shipping soon and it did. I highly recommend this unit.

I’ve had the Whirlpool Whispure 250 and 450 for several years now and it is a wonderful air cleaner. We get a bunch of dust each time we clean the pre filter (about every 2 weeks). They are quiet at the low speed, but a little noiset at high speed. The only caveat I have with these air cleaners, are the expensive Hepa replacement filters. It’s good we onlt have to change them every 1-2 years.

I would recommend this product to anyone who has allergies or just hates dust, pollen and pet dander.

I’ve had the 510 for several years now and am extremely pleased with it. It’s relatively quiet (very important bc it’s in my bedroom and is on when i’m sleeping). Though it is a bit louder when it’s on high – most of the time it’s on a lower setting bc that much power isn’t always needed unless you’re trying to clear the room of smoke or something else.

I like the very simple filter status lights – hold for five seconds to reset – and it tells you when you need to replace the filters. Although filters are expensive, all are purifiers are like that, and if you want it to continue to work effectively, it’s just something that you have to invest in.

also, i really like the fact that it sucks in air from the front, and blows out from the top so i can put it up against my wall (i live in a small apartment so that really helps with space). It generally looks nice, keeps the apartment relatively dust-free and provides for nice air circulation in the apartment.
